I have been counselling families as a psychologist from 2012. When I moved to Finland in 2014, due to many limitations I followed the academic path, which led me to obtaining my PhD degree in early 2021. My thesis explored how depression and anxiety during pregnancy affect child mental health among other questions. I haven’t give up my research career, but I am currently studying how medical interventions, obstetric violence and partner and doula support during labour are associated with postpartum depression and PTSD.
After having my first child in 2018, I realised that my biggest passion lies in comprehensive support for families on their journey through parenthood. In my work I have a unique approach as I combine my background in psychology, research, and postpartum doula training. I strongly believe that our minds and bodies are deeply connected and I find constant confirmations for this, both in modern research and traditions as old as times from all over the world.
DEAR MAMA POSTPARTUM
Dear Mama, I am here to take care of you while you are busy taking care of your baby. I offer emotional support, body care and educational programs on your journey from conception throughout pregnancy and birth to postpartum and beyond. I speak about topics that are often silenced: postpartum depression, traumatic birth experience, being lost as a person in motherhood, physical challenges and problems with the partner after having children. I believe that every family should be cared for as gently and thoroughly as for the new baby.
